Subject: WE SUPPORT THE CITY OF SAN JOSE PROJIBITING THE SALE OF NITROUS OXIDE BEING SOLD AT
SMOKE/VAPE SHOPS AND DISPENSARIES
Inhaling nitrous oxide blocks oxygen to the brain and gives a short term high. Nitrous oxide is a popular illegal inhalant due to its easy access and easy concealment. High use and long-term use can create a B12 deficiency, weaken the immune system, cause organ failure, and “lead to severe neurological complications within the peripheral and/or central nervous system.”
We support a San Jose City ordinance, Santa Clara County ordinance, and CA state legislation prohibiting nitrous oxide being sold in smoke/vape shops and dispensaries in San Jose, Santa Clara County and in California.
