Parks, Playgrounds, Recreational Centers and Facilities must be maintained in our City. As a member, I will place a very strong emphasis on safety of playgrounds, mitigation of potentially harmful objects around the area of Parks, Playgrounds, Recreational Centers and Facilities, along with routine cleaning of parks and playgrounds. Community organizing (Volunteering from local students) to maintain these sites will also be a top priority.

Previously volunteered with Habitat for Humanity to build low income housing around the San Francisco Bay Area. I enjoy volunteering very much and find this is the best way to utilize our neighbors and their willingness to conserve the beauty of San Jose's District 10.

The skills best suited for such a position that I possess include, Leadership, Team-building, Organization, as well as having to answer to clients and managers when being trusted to allocate hundreds of thousands of dollars as a Financial Advisor, thus giving me the experience necessary to be a public servant.
What is your understanding of the purpose of the Commission? My understanding of the purpose of the Commission is to coordinate with the City Planning Commission, along with City Council in order to make decisions that affect the City's Parks, Playgrounds, Recreational Centers and Facilities. This could include changing certain things in a playground, making a decision to build on city park property, shut down or open up recreational facilities for youth, and more.
Please list three issues facing the City that you feel the Commission should address.
The Commission should make sure that our parks should be cleaned routinely (no more shattered glass shards near children), our community must be encouraged to come together to maintain our facilities, parks and playgrounds, as well as I believe the Commission is not utilizing our students enough; We should be going to local high schools and middle schools and offering volunteer hours for maintaining our Parks and Recreational facilities.

As a Parks and Recreation Commissioner, how would you handle a situation where you have a volatile
Community group which is opposed to a staff proposal?
I would invite both the volatile group as well as unbiased citizens to a town hall where everyone's questions may be answered. Here, the community can voice their concerns, and if valid, will be brought to the attention of the rest of the commission. We must encourage an open and professional forum when their are issues to be addressed.

Can you provide examples of major public policy issues that you have been involved in and what your role was in the issue?
When a bar was proposed to be opened up in a shopping center near my home, my family and I went to a town hall meeting to voice our concerns regarding the close proximity that location for a bar would have with the local High School. After showing how High School kids and bar-goers could easily clash in a violent and disruptive manner, many people agreed and the bar moved to another location for business.
I would like to say . . .
I have such a great feeling of pride for my city and my District and I want to be able to make a positive impact. I approached my City Councilman and told him that I want to make a difference and this is, in my opinion, the best way to do so!
