Recommendation: Authorize travel for Vice Mayor Jones to Washington D.C. on March 11-15, 2022 for the National League of Cities Congressional Conference.

Meeting Dates: March 13-16, 2022
Source of Funds: Mayor/Council Travel Budget
Anticipated Cost: $1,200
Purpose: National League of Cities will be hosting the Congressional City Conference event in Washington D.C. Local officials will hear directly from policymakers and thought leaders, discover the latest funding opportunities to support economic growth, and learn emerging practices to strengthen local communities. Vice Mayor Jones is a member of the National League of Cities and will represent San Jose’s interests on a national level.
Pursuant to Council Policy 9-5, Travel by Elected and Appointed City Officials, this travel falls as an allowable use under the Mayor/Council Travel Budget under F.4.d, Trips to represent the City on Boards and Committees of the National League of Cities when appointed by the Council or otherwise officially appointed to serve on such boards or committees.
