Project: Improving Criminal Justice Program
Description: The purpose of the project is to expand services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assaults and sex trafficking. The project will fund a Domestic Violence Advocate stationed at the Family Justice Center Courthouse to provide services to domestic violence survivors with the direction of the court. In addition, a Sexual Assault Advocate will be deployed to the Sexual Assault Investigation Unit within the San José Police Department (SJPD) to provide crisis intervention and follow-up services, including crisis counseling and legal advocacy to victims of sexual assault and victims of sex trafficking. An intersection screening tool will be developed and implemented to help advocates and law enforcement identify and connect victims to appropriate support services.

RECITALS
W
HEREAS, on May 22, 2019, CITY and GRANTEE entered into an agreement entitled “City of San José Grant Agreement” (“Agreement”); and
WHEREAS, on June 24, 2019, GRANTEE amended its Articles of Incorporation changing its name from Young Women’s Christian Association of Silicon Valley to YWCA Silicon Valley; and
WHEREAS, on February 19, 2021, GRANTEE amended and restated its Articles of Incorporation changing its name from YWCA Silicon Valley to YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley; and
WHEREAS, on December 15, 2021, CITY and GRANTEE entered into a First Amendment to the Agreement to recognize GRANTEE’s name change, extend the agreement term and modify Exhibit C, Budget Summary; and
WHEREAS, CITY and GRANTEE desire to further amend the amended Agreement to extend the agreement term, with no increase in the maximum amount of compensation; NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree to further amend the amended Agreement as follows:
SECTION I. The Agreement Term is amended as shown on the Summary Page.
SECTION II. All other terms and conditions of the amended Agreement not modified by this Second Amendment shall remain in full force and effect.
