RECOMMENDATION:
1. Councilmember Foley will replace Councilmember Mahan as the City’s “elected official” representative to the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency Implementation Board.
2. Appoint Councilmember Cohen as the Alternate to Councilmember Foley on the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency Implementation Board.
3. Appoint David Keyon as the City Staff Representative to the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency Implementation Board and Cassandra van der Zweep as his Alternate.
4. Appoint Councilmember Davis as the Alternate to Councilmember Foley on the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency Governing Board.
BACKGROUND:
In my January 26, 2021 appointments memo that was approved by Council, I appointed Councilmember Mahan to the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency Implementation Board (SVHAIB), and as an Alternate to Councilmember Foley on the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency Governing Board (SVHAGB). I also appointed him to the PSFSS Committee. These appointments have conflicting meeting times that prevent Councilmember Mahan from fulfilling his duties to both groups. Councilmember Foley has agreed to take over the appointment to the SVHAIB, and Councilmember Davis has agreed to be Councilmember Foley’s Alternate on the SVHAGB to help us correct this overlap.
The SVHAIB also includes a City Staff Representative that I must recommend and that must be approved by the Council. The previous appointment from PBCE has since left the City. In their place, PBCE has recommended the appointment of David Keyon and Cassandra van der Zweep as his Alternate.
