Dear Mayor Liccardo and Members of the City Council:
On today's City Council agenda, the Council will discuss and vote on a 4.6% raise for Code Enforcement Inspectors; I'm contacting you to ask you to vote on a raise which is fair and realistic when compared to our colleagues in the South Bay.
Currently, the Code Enforcement Division is understaffed with a dedicated team of Inspectors committed to improving the quality of life for San Jose residents. The following is a comparison range for Code Enforcement Inspectors from other jurisdictions. As you can see, the City of San Jose, with the 4.6% proposed raise, still leaves the City of San Jose as the lowest paying municipality.
IAs we are aware, the City of San Jose is a challenge for folks to survive; please do what you can to increase the salaries for Code Enforcement Inspectors in San Jose.
Code Enforcement Inspector I
City of San Jose (current): $33.17-$40.29
City of San Jose (+ 4.6%): $34.69-$42.14
City of Santa Clara: $46.83-$59.89
City of Sunnyvale: $36.83-$47.01
City of Mountain View: $42.44-$51.58
City of Palo Alto: $41.42-$50.84
City of Milpitas $42.76-$51.98
City of Campbell $49.81-$60.52
Santa Clara County $37.23-$45.11
