Council Policy 2-1, Section C.1, allows “Flags of Governments Recognized by the United States.

Flags of the governments recognized by the United States may be displayed upon the request of the Mayor, a member of the City Council or the City Manager.”

The Flag of Azerbaijan will be raised in a Flag Raising ceremony on June 3, 2022 at San Jose City Hall West Plaza and is sponsored by Vice Mayor Chappie Jones. This special event is for commemorating Azerbaijan’s declaration of independence from the Russian Empire on May 28, 1918.
