Comment for council agenda item 10.1 "LAND USE" for September 20, 2022 council meeting:
I oppose the consent to rezoning of my property and surrounding properties north of Hedding at 7th Street from R-M Multifamily Residential to LI Light Industrial Zoning in File C22-092. I realize this is to align the zoning with the General Plan for SB1333, but I believe the General Plan to be short sighted. Bernal Park with its playground and open fields is directly across the street from my property. It doesn't make sense to zone or plan these properties as Light Industrial when they're across the street from a playground. No one wants to see their residential neighborhood consented to be zoned "Light Industrial" and I would hope our elected leaders agree that properties across the street from a playground should not be Light Industrial in a General Plan.
