RECOMMENDATION
Forward a recommendation to the City Council to approve a $1,000 SAP grant from Council District 5 to support University Preparatory Academy's Latino/a Club.
BACKGROUND
Pursuant to City Council Expenditure and Reimbursement Policy, Policy Number 0-38, Section K “Grants”, Item 6, “Any contribution to an organization proposed by a Council member who is a member of that organization must be approved in advance by the City Council.
Approval is requested to expend $1,000 from the budgeted District 5 SAP Grant allocation to support University Preparatory Academy's Latino/a Club. This club aims to empower students and their voice to share with their peer their latino cultures and traditions.
I have a child who attends University Preparatory Academy. Because of my relationship with this school, it is appropriate for the full Council to approve this grant.
