BACKGROUND

On February 1, 2005, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 72517 which requires Councilmembers to submit a memorandum to the Rules Committee regarding proposed City Council sponsored Special Events and the proposed use of any funds.

Alameda Park Neighborhood residents, Kay Gutknecht and Krista Van Laan co-authored the nonfiction novel, “Schiele Subdivision and Alameda Park. History, Architecture, and Preservation in a San Jose Neighborhood.” To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Alameda Park Neighborhood and the publishing of their book, Councilmember Dev Davis sponsored a neighborhood block party on Saturday, October 15th.

The event was free and open to the public and was catered by Hunger at Home dba Full Circle Catering and Events.
