SUBJECT: UPDATE TO THE AUGUST – DECEMBER 2022 PUBLIC SAFETY,
FINANCE AND STRATEGIC SUPPORT COMMITTEE WORK PLAN
RECOMMENDATION
Approve an amendment to the August - December 2022 Public Safety, Finance and Strategic Support Committee Work Plan to drop the following item from the December 15, 2022 Committee meeting:
Recruitment, Hiring, and Retention Strategies Status Report.
Purpose: Provide a verbal status report on recruitment, hiring and retention strategies. (Human Resources)
BACKGROUND
Staff is requesting to move the verbal status report to February 2023 for the following reasons:
1. Key staff are involved in an interview panel for a critical City leadership recruitment on that day and it cannot be moved.
2. Due to the nature of our business processes that are contingent on pay periods, accurate and reliable data for a presentation of a full calendar year is not available until 2-3 weeks after the end of month for the prior month. December 15 would not allow for the development and analysis of a complete calendar year presentation of 2022 data.
