RECOMMENDATION
Accept the status update on the proposed Urban Confluence Silicon Valley project.
BACKGROUND
The Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department and the San José Light Tower Corporation will provide the Neighborhood Services and Education Committee with an update and presentation on the status of the proposed Urban Confluence Silicon Valley Project.
The Department will continue to work collaboratively with the San José Light Tower Corporation to fulfil their mission of creating an icon that is respected internationally and by the local community.
ANALYSIS
The San José Light Tower’s mission is to build an artistically inspired iconic landmark as an architectural legacy and gift to the City of San José. The updated presentation will include the current status of the project and consideration of the feasibility of this project at Cesar Chavez Plaza, instead of Arena Green Park.
COORDINATION
This memorandum has been coordinated with the City Manager’s Budget Office and the City Attorney’s Office.
