Subject: Transportation and Environment Committee (T*E) Dec.5/2022 meeting Trees/resolutions No. 80628‐80758 Public/written comment
My written/comment regards: The report states "Data on tree removals, replacements and tree planting is limited. A need to track more data and outreach efforts." How is it possible to accept a report of tree- related-in-lieu fees and enforcement of tree-planting condition on development? Many of the development sites (enclosed by fences/signs posted) harbor trees that have existed on the land for a lengthy period of time. Environmental stewards are perplexed (me) as to why the city of San Jose and forest committee is enabling the uprooting of thus trees. District 3 (current residence) is one of those that appears to be selected for vast areas of tree removal (district 4 also). Please allow for further comments from community when proposals of development within the districts are planned (deforestation). Thank-you Lilian Koenig Resident of District 3
