Recommendation
As recommended by the Rules and Open Government Committee on January 18, 2023, approve a $1,500.00 SAP grant from Council District 2 to the Santa Teresa High School Boys Soccer Program to support their general fund for operating and administrative expenses.

GROUND
A
pproval is requested for expended funds in the amount of $1500.00 to the Santa Teresa High School Boys Soccer Program from the budgeted District 2 portion of the SAP Center of San Jose Fund, to support the program’s general operating and administrative expenses. The Boys Soccer Program at Santa Teresa High School provides students with team building skills, outdoor physical activity and promotes healthy competition, concentration, persistence, and self- discipline.

suant to City Council Expenditure and Reimbursement Policy, Policy Number 0-38, Section K "Grants", Item 6, "Any contribution to an organization proposed by a Councilmember who is a member of that organization must be approved in advance by the City Council." M
y office supports various recreational activities in San Jose. Currently, I have a son who plays on the Santa Teresa High School Boys Soccer Program team. Because of my relationship with this organization, it is appropriate for the full Council to approve this grant.
