SUBJECT: City Council Appointments of Standing Committees and Boards, Commissions, and Committees and Assignments, and Amendments to Rules of Conduct Resolution.
RECOMMENDATION:

1. Appoint Vice Mayor Rosemary Kamei as the final member of the Rules and Open Government Committee.
Background
As our council looks to finalize who will sit on various committees and other bodies, we find it imperative that there be broad representation across these committees which cover crucial matters that further the city’s many goals. Recognizing the importance and need for leadership, we strongly recommend that Vice Mayor Rosemary Kamei be selected as the final member of the Rules and Open Government Committee.
In past administrations, Vice Mayors have been tapped to sit on the Rules and Open Government Committee. Vice Mayor Kamei governs with values of equity and consideration for all residents of San Jose. We look forward to finalizing this process so that our committees can be fully rostered, and we continue to address the critical needs of the diverse communities in our beautiful city.
