RECOMMENDATION
Amend the 2022-2023/2023-2024 City Budget Calendar as follows:

1. March 13, 2023 – Release of the 2023-2024 Mayor’s March Budget Message

2. March 21, 2023 – Public Hearing of the 2023-2024 Mayor’s March Budget Message

3. March 21, 2023 – City Council Review and Approval of the 2023-2024 Mayor’s March Budget Message

DISCUSSION
In accordance with our City’s Charter, the Mayor is directed to deliver a March Budget Message that includes a statement of fiscal priorities, department programmatic expansions & reductions, and specific budget recommendations. The message is in part informed by the 2023-2024 City Manager’s Budget Request and 2024-2028 Five-Year Forecast, which is produced by the City Manager’s Office. This year, my March Budget Message will also incorporate recommendations and priorities that arise from the Priority Setting process, which is scheduled to conclude on February 28th. To allow for sufficient time to incorporate Council feedback garnered during the February 28th priority setting session within the context of the Forecast, I recommend amending the following components of the 2022-2023/2023-2024 City Budget Calendar:

1. March 13, 2023 – Release of the 2023-2024 Mayor’s March Budget Message

2. March 21, 2023 – Public Hearing of the 2023-2024 Mayor’s March Budget Message

3. March 21, 2023 – City Council Review and Approval of the 2023-2024 Mayor’s March Budget Message
The City Manager’s office and Budget Office support this recommendation.
