Recommendation: Authorize travel for Councilmember Omar Torres to Detroit, MI on May 1st to May 4th, 2023, for SPUR Study Trip, and excuse my absence from the regular meeting of the City Council on May 2, 2023

Meeting Dates: May1st- May 4th, 2023
Source of Funds: D3 council funds
Purpose: SPUR's study trip will explore Detroit's ongoing transformation and efforts around the resurgence of downtown, the role of philanthropy in solving financial challenges, urban rural connections through food, and economic justice. But don't call it a comeback, as many Detroiters are proud to have never left. It is sure to be an inspirational trip.
