SUBJECT: REQUEST TO TRAVEL DATE: March 17, 2023
Recommendation: 1. Authorize travel for Councilmember Jimenez to attend the National League of Cities Congressional City Conference and the Sister Cities International Spring Leadership Meeting in Washington D.C. on March 24-28, 2023.
2. Excuse Councilmember Sergio Jimenez from the regular meeting of the City Council on March 28, 2023.

Source of Funds: District 2 Funds
Purpose: The National League of Cities Congressional City Conference (CCC) brings local leaders to Washington, DC and provides them with the necessary tools and connections to advocate for their respective cities with federal officials, learn about funding opportunities available to cities, towns and villages, and participate in federal municipal policy.
Councilmember Jimenez will attend the conference in representation of San Jose.
Additionally, Councilmember Jimenez serves on the Sister Cities International Board as the representative for the City of San Jose. The Sister City network, which unites tens of thousands of citizen diplomats and volunteers who work tirelessly to promote the organizations’ mission of creating world peace, will host its Spring Leadership Meeting.
