A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
JOSE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR
DESIGNEE, INCLUDING DIRECTOR OF AVIATION, TO
APPLY FOR, EXECUTE, AND ACCEPT UPON RECEIPT,
GRANTS FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION, FOR QUALIFYING PROGRAMS AND
PROJECTS AT THE SAN JOSE MINETA INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT
WHEREAS, the City of San José (“City”) owns and operates the S an José Mineta International Airport (“Airport”); and
WHEREAS, the Airport has been seeking City Council authority to apply for, execute and accept Federal Aviation Administration (“FAA”) Airport Improvement Program (“AIP”), Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (“BIL”), or other federal grants made available to airports by the United States Department of Transportation (“USDOT”) on a project or grant program specific basis; and
WHEREAS, the Airport desires to increase efficiency by seeking approval from the City Council for the authorization of routine execution of FAA AIP, BIL, and other USDOT grant applications and agreements; and
WHEREAS, Airport desires to authorize City Manager, or designee, including Director of Aviation, signature authority for the routine execution of FAA AIP, BIL and other USDOT grant applications and agreements; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JOSE THAT:

The City Manager or designee, including Director of Aviation, is hereby authorized to apply for, execute, and accept upon receipt, grants from the US DOT for qualifying programs and projects at the Airport.
