Just a note of thanks for your listening and perhaps action. Tuesday afternoon, I and a group of fellow travelers in the pursuit of the demise of COPA, succeeded. The city council chamber was pretty much filled with enthusiastic and rather caustic sides to the argument. As we stood up to say our piece, limited to 60 seconds, so there was little time to drift about on philosophy, but it was enough, of the 11 votes cast, 9 were for halting further movement on COPA and Councilmembers Sergio Jiminez and Omar Torres voted no! I am almost giddy with this victory. I hope it lasts at least through the weekend and Housing will be at it again!
For the first time, there was a upswelling of support from our side. Gina from the Realtors, Irene pulling a people together, Cheryl, and Roberta, long-time fighters and Jenny from Bahn. There we many of us., united in purpose and determination.
