The Indian Independence Day Flag raising is scheduled on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in remembrance of August 15, 1947, India’s Independence Day from British rule. Council Office D10 is partnering with the Association of Indo-Americans (AIA) to help celebrate Independence Day by having refreshments, cultural dances, and songs in the Rotunda, followed by the Flag Rising in the West Plaza. This event is free and open to the public. The Tower and Rotunda will be lit in Orange, White and Green, the colors of the Indian Flag, from August 11th to August 16th.
