WORK PLAN
RECOMMENDATION
Retroactively approve an amendment to the August – December 2023 Community and Economic Development (CED) Committee Work Plan to drop the following item from the October 23, 2023 CED Committee meeting:
• Rent Stabilization Program Strategic Plan Status Report.
Purpose: Provide a status report on the draft Rent Stabilization Program Strategic Plan including Apartment Rent Ordinance, Mobilehome Rent Ordinance, Tenant Protection Ordinance, Ellis Act Ordinance, and goals and objectives for the program over the coming years. (Housing)
BACKGROUND
At the October 23, 2023 CED Committee meeting, the Committee approved dropping the Rent Stabilization Program Strategic Plan Status Report from the October 23, 2023, meeting agenda.
Staff conducted additional engagement with residents, housing providers, and other stakeholders on this item over several weeks, pursuant to the request of the CED Committee. Considering the feedback received from stakeholders, staff updated the draft Rent Stabilization Program Strategic Plan. However, there was not adequate time to review the updated draft strategic plan with stakeholders. Staff requested to drop the item from the October 23, 2023, CED Committee meeting agenda and add it to the January – June 2024 CED Committee Work Plan.
