RECOMMENDATION
Set a City Council Study Session entitled Code Enforcement Process and Blight Abatement of Properties.
PURPOSE
A Study Session detailing code enforcement processes and blight abatement allows the City Council to learn about the code enforcement process, ask code enforcement and other department staff questions, and discuss changes potentially needed to improve the process regarding historically neglected and blighted buildings. Concerning the process, the City Council will learn what happened over the last several years that led to historically abandoned and neglected buildings staying in their current state and what direction they received from various departments.
The signers of this memorandum have not had, and will not have, any private conversation with any other member of the City Council, or that member’s staff, concerning any action discussed in the memorandum, and that each signer’s staff members have not had, and have been instructed not to have, any such conversation with any other member of the City Council or that member's staff.
