drinking water and that of the migratory animals. This will eventually make them (and us) sick ( cancer being very prevalent with plastics
This project jeopardizes the environment on many levels:
a.soil and microsoils invasion
b water table
c. air
d. wildlife
3. Since 10 years have passed, there has been more studies about the critical path of the migratory animals across the Santa Cruz mountains into this corridor.
This proposed project will bring increased man-made activity to the area. Three paved parking lots, admin buildings, 8 mausoleums, chapel, septic system, utility buildings. These are the hillsides which surround our beautiful valley and this has many environmental ramifications.
For example, the mountain lion especially is currently endangered- they are now inbreeding since they can find no suitable mate. That sure hits me in the stomach to think how desperate these lions are.
4. The burrowing owl is another example of lower population as well as endangered low population of bats. The bats are especially useful and tied into the environmental matrix of this area.
5. Another concern is there has not been proper study of the prevailing wind patterns since the crematory will be the chief concern with this aspect.
I can smell very vividly the garlic that comes in from the northwesterly wind patterns from Gilroy 25 miles away! With a crematory, this needs to be investigated. The smell at Oak Hill mortuary is very vivid and horrible - my husband smells it daily at the Transit yard on 10th street. Since this proposed 4,300 sq ft crematorium is quite large, how many crematory chambers are in the plans? Although regulation is only burning one body at a time in each chamber, how many chambers are proposed?
The Open Space Preserve of Coyote valley is very close to this project.
Hikers, bikers, horse riders use this open space quite a bit and this needs to be taken into consideration since Coyote Valley open space is quite close and very readily used.
Although regulation is only burning one body at a time in each chamber, how many chambers are proposed so how many bodies will be burned at one time?

Lynn Kamboj 95120 - Restore Virtual Comments at City Council meetings From District 5 United

Do not open links or attachments from untrusted sources.] Dear Mayor Mahan and San Jose City Council,
I ask you to rise to the challenge rather than cave to bullies intent on stifling the input of disadvantaged communities. The City needs to immediately restore virtual public comment for all City Council, Committee, and Commission meetings.
It is clear there is an effmt to silence members of disadvantaged communities. Many residents rely on being able to provide viriual public comment due to reasons of disability, health, work schedules, parenting and other demands of modem life. The strategy appears to be to engage in racist and hateful speech in order to bully the Council into eliminating virtual public comment. The bullies scored a victory when the Council decided to eliminate this option without first seeking community input and not at the bequest from community members.
By eliminating remote access on the heels of restricting access to the council chambers in December, San Jose has fallen from a model of good government dedicated to promoting civic participation to a city displaying troubling behavior and giving the impression that hearing from its residents is a bother.
We agree that the comments of a few bad actors are vile and have no place in a community meeting.
Rather than using racist and hateful speech as an excuse to cut off community participation and hamper people's First Amendment right to petition their government., however, the City should rise to the challenge of finding solutions to preserve access for eve1yone while continuing to facilitate public comment by providing a virtual option.
Ending the process of remote participation, is to deny a large segment of the community the oppmtunity to participate in our democratic process. Some examples include:
Disabled residents who rely on technology to speak, or who othe1wise have to arrange rides with Paratransit.
Immunocompromised residents who take on unnecessary risks to their health by spending hours in a packed room.
Working people without the ability to runnge their schedules around hours-long council meetings.
Parents with small children who can't take time off to attend City meetings. https://outlook.office365. com/mail/[email protected]/id/ AAOkAGJiNDY2NWl3L TY 1 ODktNDczNy1 iYjdkLWZINWFjYmFmNmQ3ZQAOAHAb02n .. _ 1 /2

Lynn Kamboj 95120 - Protect Our Parks: Definition of Chartered Parkland From San Jose United

[External Email. Do not open links or attachments from untrusted sources.] Dear San Jose City Council,
Protect Our Parks. We ask you to ensure that the definition of parkland fully protects existing, under construction, and planned parks in the City of San Jose.
Parks are impmtant to the residents of San Jose across the city. Rich or poor, young or old, regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, or ability: parks are impo1tant to us all a€" for our physical health, our mental health, and the health of the community.
The City Charter states the public parks of the City shall be inalienable unless otheiwise authorized by the affnmative votes of the majority of the electors voting on such a proposition in each case. Further, the Charter states as used herein public park means any and all lands of the City which have been or are dedicated, improved and opened to the public for public park purposes. Additionally, the staff's memo (https://www.sanjoseca.gov/home/showdocument?id 108319&t 638406648249390275) notes:
"Opened to the public for public park purposes means that the public can access the park and enjoy the space. In other words, the City has made the space useable and safe for the public to use. This also includes open space in its natural condition with minimal or no improvements that are intended to be opened to the public."
I urge the Council to ensure parks are protected in their entirety. Whether improved parks, or unimproved parks that focus public access on contemplative, passive enjoyment of the natural environment and its biological resources. I urge the Council to push for precise and expansive language to provide the maximum protection of our park lands. I also urge the Council to recommend that the City take steps to ensure the protection of planned or under-constmction parks. In addition, I request that staff include a full list of the recognized Chartered Parks in the report, and in a maintained online directory, for public transparency.
Protect Our Parks.
Sincerely,
LynnKamboj
