Agenda item #7.1 Public Comment: Addressing Collaboration and Community EngagementI am here today to address a critical issue regarding our unhoused community and the recent actions taken during the abatement process conducted During this abatement, personal property belonging to individuals experiencing homelessness was removed. I want to acknowledge that an employee has apologized for the “Mix up” While we appreciate the recognition of this oversight, it is essential that we learn from this experience and work to prevent it from happening again. We each have a right to personal property. And those rights are to be protected and defended. To truly understand our unhoused community, we must prioritize collaboration between service providers, local government, and, most importantly, the voices of those directly impacted. I invite all of you to participate in an upcoming panel discussion hosted by members of the unhoused community. This event is a vital opportunity for us to engage directly with those who are living this reality, allowing us to better understand their needs and perspectivesOn 11/15/2024 1PM Let us come together to not only acknowledge the challenges we face but also to co-create compassionate and effective solutions that prioritize the dignity and rights of all individuals. participation in this discussion will demonstrate our collective commitment to fostering a community that listens, learns, and acts with integrity.Thank you for your attention, and I hope to see you at the panel discussion. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most. And improve the quality of life for all of us Thank you, James Campbell
