Subject: Item 2.10

Hello All,

I'm asking that Item 2.10 be taken off consent. Firstly, having only two OWLs with a nightly bed availability of 60 when each year the death count due to hypothermia is higher than the year before, is ridiculous and shows blatant callous disregard for the unhoused populaon.

Secondly, the two locaons, Roosevelt and Alum Rock, are essenally the same area. There's no OWL services for people in the North or the heavily unhoused populated South.

When the weather turns bad, people aren't going to travel to downtown, they are going to hunker down where they are and they are going to die. That's not hyperbole, that's fact, the coroner's numbers show that—each year more people die from hypothermia than the previous year. And yet, here you are offering worse services than the previous year. Decisions like this cause death.

Last year, there were 19 hypothermia deaths when we did the tombstones. The year before was 18. Only you can prevent us from hing 20! Find a third locaon for an OWL! Regards,
Shaunn Cartwright

Lives are at stake.

Homelessness is an EMERGENCY especially during inclement weather.

We can do beer. We MUST do beer.
