I am in support of a special election to fill the district 3 council seat vacated by omar Torres. Last time a situation like this happened, there was no special election, and we have seen the results.
In 2022, when Sam Liccardo was still the mayor of San Jose, one of his last things was to speak, eloquently about the need for a special election, but his words were ignored by the council majority. Now that Sam Liccardo is the congressman- elect, it is clear that he has been vindicated, and that will of the people should always be upheld.
We should not repeat the mistake of last time. Please do a special election. QR code www.michaeltsai.org.

Dear Mayor Mahan and the San José City Council,
As a resident of District 3 I believe that in order to strengthen the legitimacy of the next D3 council member a special election must be held immediately. Any delay in the election has the potential to disenfranchise a large number of San José residents, which ultimately works against the interest of all San José residents.
Sincerely,
Ángel Islas
