Recommendation
As recommended by the Rules and Open Government Committee on November 13, 2024, appoint Councilmember Candelas to the Valley Transportation Agency (VTA) Board in the alternate position.

RECOMMENDATION
1. Appoint Councilmember Candelas to the Valley Transportation Agency (VTA) Board in the Alternate position.
2. Cross reference this memo to the November 19, 2024 Council Agenda.
DISCUSSION
After further consideration since the Council approved various changes to appointments on October 22nd, Councilmember Jimenez has requested not to serve on the VTA Board. Therefore, I recommend appointing Councilmember Candelas as the VTA Board Alternate. If approved, this appointment, like the other appointments Council recently approved, will remain in effect until I bring my annual appointment memo to the Council for consideration in January 2025 or sooner if necessary.
