election and the results of the election have been officially certified. Therefore, both Councilmember Candelas and Councilmember Batra’s terms end upon certification of the election. This leaves a gap from December 10-December 31, 2024 where no Councilmember is in office. As Councilmember Candelas and Councilmember-Elect George Casey are both elected to a term beginning January 1, 2025, we are recommending the City Council appoint both to an interim term to end on December 31, 2024.
