Recommendation
As recommended by the Rules and Open Government Committee on December 4, 2024, appoint Councilmember Casey to the:
(a) Public Safety, Finance & Strategic Support Committee; (b) Community & Economic Development Committee;
(c) Neighborhood Services & Education Committee;
(d) ABAG - Executive Board as an Alternate;
(e) Appeals Hearing Board as the Liaison;
(f) Climate Advisory Commission as the Liaison;
(g) Human Services Commission as the Liaison;
(h) Santa Clara County Emergency Operational Area Council; (i) Santa Clara County Health Benefits Coalition;
(j) Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency Implementation Board as the Alternate; (k) Santa Clara VTA Policy Advisory Board - El Camino Real Rapid Transit as the Alternate; (l) Santa Clara VTA Policy Advisory Board - SR 85 Corridor; (m) Silicon Valley Regional Interoperability Project as the Alternate; and (n) San José/Santa Clara Treatment Plant Advisory Committee as the Alternate.

DISCUSSION
During the December 10, 2024 City Council meeting, the City Clerk will swear George Casey in as the Councilmember for District 10. I recommend appointing Councilmember Casey to assume Councilmember Batra’s current responsibilities on various standing committees, boards, and commissions. If approved, these appointments will remain in effect until I bring my annual appointment memo to the Council for consideration in January 2025.
