Present: Batra, Candelas, Cohen, Davis, Doan, Foley, Kamei (1:36 p.m.), Ortiz, Torres, Mahan.
Absent: Jimenez.
City Council Study Session
Purpose: To provide the City Council with an overview of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) operations within Santa Clara County with a focus on 9-1-1 ambulance services and possible future service models.
Outcome: The City Council will gain a common understanding of the Santa Clara County EMS System, 9-1-1 ambulance services, system revenues, and service model trends in the State of California.
San José Fire Department, Fire Chief, Robert Sapien Jr. and Battalion Chief, Patrick Chung; AP Triton LLC, Senior Associate Project Manager, Tim Maybee; San José Fire Department, Deputy Director, Athena Trede; Deputy Fire Chief, Scott Socarelli; and Administrative Officer, Mathew Chacko offered the presentation and/or responded to questions.
Public Comment
Eli Mosowitz and Phil Barber offered public comments.
