The SJC shuttle buses provide what is likely the "best" public transit service in Santa Clara County:
• It is free to use.
• It runs 24 hours per day.
• It arrives every 7 to 10 minutes.

Unfortunately, this fantastic service only facilitates private car transportation, when it could also be used to facilitate first/last mile connections between SJC and the light rail network. Furthermore, the stops at the parking lots only benefit residents who are leaving the city via SJC, and not visitors to San Jose.

We strongly encourage SJC to run a pilot whereby the shuttle buses would make additional stops at the Metro/Airport light rail station, to supplement the VTA 60 bus. This service expansion could be especially valuable during the Super Bowl, when large volumes of visitors will arrive through SJC and need easy access to public transit.

The contract between San Jose and Ace Parking should have flexibility to run this kind of pilot service, or even to make this service permanent if it proves successful. Please avoid any prescriptive terms that would limit the service to only run between the terminals, parking lots, and rental car center.

Best,
Jordan Moldow
Harry Neil
