The Committee meeting was held in the Council Chambers, and convened at 2:01 p.m.
Present: Councilmembers - Cohen, Foley, Jimenez, Davis, Kamei.
Absent: Councilmembers - None.
Staff: Assistant City Manager, Lee Wilcox; Assistant City Attorney, Kevin Fisher; Assistant City Clerk, Joy Rodriguez; City Manager’s Office, Gina Espejo; and Deputy City Clerk, Daniel Aguilar.
A. City Council (City Clerk)
1. Review March 26, 2024 Final Agenda
a) Add New Items to Final Agenda
b) Assign "Time Certain" to Agenda Items (if needed)
c) Review of Notice of Waiver Requirements for Agenda Items or Documents (if needed) Public Comment: None provided.
Action: Upon motion by Councilmember Pam Foley, seconded by Councilmember Dev Davis, and carried unanimously, the Committee approved the final agenda for the City Council meeting on March 26, 2024; including Item 8.4 to be heard after Item 8.2, and the Joint Housing Authority Item to be heard immediately after the Consent Calendar. (5-0-0)
2. Review April 2, 2024 Draft Agenda – CANCELLED .
B. Consent Calendar
Public Comment: None provided.
Action: Upon motion by Councilmember Dev Davis, seconded by Vice Mayor Rosemary Kamei, and carried unanimously, the Consent Calendar was approved as a whole. The below actions were taken as indicated. (5-0-0)
1. The Public Record for March 7 - March 14, 2024. (City Clerk) The Public Record for March 7 - March 14, 2024, was received and filed. 2 2. Release Date for Study Session. (City Manager)
The date held for a Study Session on Thursday, April 4, 2024 was released.
3. Approval of Great American Litter Pick-Up as a City Council Sponsored Special Event, to Expend City Funds and Authorization to Accept Donations of Materials and Services for the Event. (City Clerk)
The Great American Litter Pick-Up scheduled on April 20, 2024 was approved for placement on the March 26, 2024 Council Agenda for action.
4. Retroactive Approval of the LEAF Town Hall and Pizza & Policy Sponsored by Council District 3 as City Council Sponsored Special Events to Expend City Funds and Accept Donations of Materials and Services for the Events. (Torres)
The Latino Education Advancement Foundation (LEAF) Town Hall and Pizza & Policy Sponsored by Council District 3 were approved for placement on the March 26, 2024 Council Agenda for action.
5. Retroactive Approval of The Water Education for Latino Leaders Conference Reception as a City Council Sponsored Special Event to Expend City Funds and Accept Donations of Materials and Services for the Event. (Jimenez)
The Water Education for Latino Leaders Conference Reception was approved for placement on the March 26, 2024 Council Agenda for action.
