RESOLUTION NO. ______________
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
JOSE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE ENERGY
DEPARTMENT OR HER DESIGNEE TO CONTINUE THE
CITY’S ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP WITH THE CALIFORNIA
COMMUNITY CHOICE ASSOCIATION FOR FISCAL YEAR
2026-2027 AT A COST NOT-TO-EXCEED $650,000
WHEREAS, the California Community Choice Association, also referred to as CalCCA, represents the interests of California’s community choice electricity providers in the legislature and with relevant regulatory agencies; and
WHEREAS, these include the California Public Utilities Commission, California Energy Commission, and California Air Resources Board; and
WHEREAS, Community choice programs are administered by local governments with a mission to provide competitive alternatives to investor-owned utility sources; and
WHEREAS, CalCCA’s voting members are the operating community choice programs in California; and
WHEREAS, in December 2017, the City Manager appointed Lori Mitchell, Director of the Energy Department to the CalCCA Board of Directors to represent San José Clean Energy, the community choice energy program operated by the Energy Department; and
WHEREAS, the Energy Department has continually maintained its membership with CalCCA since that time, with Ms. Mitchell serving on the CalCCA Board of Directors;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JOSE THAT:

The Director of the Energy Department or her designee is hereby authorized to continue the City’s annual membership with the California Community Choice Association for fiscal year 2026-2027 at a cost not-to-exceed $650,000.
