Purpose: The Vienna Social Housing Field Study provides an in-depth exploration of Vienna's internationally recognized social housing model through meetings with government officials, housing practitioners, financing experts, and site visits to mixed-income and permanently affordable housing developments. Participants will study housing policies, financing strategies, land use planning, and long-term stewardship practices that have enabled Vienna to maintain a highquality and affordable housing system.

The City of San José continues to prioritize expanding housing affordability and increasing the supply and preservation of affordable housing. Participation in this program is directly related to the Councilmember’s official duties and will provide information and professional engagement to help inform future City housing policies, programs and legislative priorities. The knowledge gained will support the City’s ongoing efforts to address its housing challenges.
