SUBJECT: AMENDMENTS TO COUNCIL POLICY 0-4 AND SAN JOSÉ MUNICIPAL CODE TITLE 2.08 RELATED TO BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
REASON FOR SUPPLEMENTAL
This supplemental memorandum adds a recommendation to approve virtual and hybrid meetings for Council Committees in accordance with City Council Policy 0-37. With approval of the recommendation to update City Council Policies 0-4 and 0-37, recommendation (c) would create consistency in City policy and accessibility for all public meetings.
Recommendation:
(a) Adopt a resolution approving amendments to City Council Policy 0-4, “Consolidated Policy Governing Boards and Commissions” streamlining the boards and commissions appointment process, and requiring boards and commissions to follow City Council Policy 0-37 enabling virtual and hybrid meetings;
(b) Approve an ordinance amending Chapter 2.08 of Title 2 of the San José Municipal Code related to various boards and commissions; and
(c) Approve virtual and hybrid meetings for Council Committees in accordance with City Council Policy 0-37.
