Subject: Support for Proposition 37 - San José Homeownership Opportunity [External Email. Do not open links or attachments from untrusted sources. Learn more] You don't often get email from Learn why this is important Dear Mayor Mahan and Councilmembers,
I'm writing to ask for your support for Proposition 37.

At AlphaX, our mission has always been simple: build more attainable homes and help more working families become homeowners.

We have been working in San José to create smaller, more attainable homes through infill development, missing-middle housing, SB 9, SB 684, SB 1123, and ADU condominiums.

Through this work, we see every day that building more homes is only part of the solution. Many teachers, nurses, firefighters, public employees, and working families can afford a monthly mortgage, but the down payment and high cost of buying a home remain major barriers.

Proposition 37 could help close that gap by providing eligible middle-income Californians with financing of up to 17% of the purchase price for a new home. This fits directly with what AlphaX has been working toward: creating more housing supply while making homeownership possible for the people who work and raise their families in our communities.

San José has already been a leader in finding creative ways to build more housing. I hope the City can also lead in supporting Proposition 37 and expanding pathways to homeownership for our workforce.

AlphaX would be happy to work with the City, CalHFA, lenders, employers, and community partners to explore how we can bring more attainable ownership homes to San José Thank you for your leadership and consideration.

Warmly,
Stephanie Yi
