Established in 1995, Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement (NACOLE) is the premier professional organization for civilian oversight in the United States. Its annual conference brings together 400 to 500 practitioners, law enforcement officials, journalists, elected officials, and community members from around the world to exchange ideas on critical policing and oversight issues. This year’s conference will focus on several core concepts: sharpening skills for effective oversight, engaging stakeholders, utilizing non-traditional approaches to build or maintain oversight, expanding jail oversight, and maximizing oversight’s community impact.
