ANALYSIS
As a result of Council action (BD #441 sponsored by Councilmembers Campos, Cohen, Doan, Candelas, and Casey), the FY 2026-2027 June Budget Message2 allocated $26,350 in one-time funding to support and enhance a Youth Empowerment Summit, including a half-day program with PRNS featuring a Resource and Services Fair, two breakout sessions, and a Youth Empowerment Awards ceremony with dinner for 200 attendees. This has been incorporated into the Youth Commission’s FY 2026-2027 work plan.

The Youth Commission met on August 16, 2026, to review the prior year’s achievements and develop the FY 2026-2027 work plan (Attachment A). They also voted to select the Chair, Vice Chair, Communications Officer, and Outreach Officer for FY 2026-2027.

COORDINATION
This memorandum has been coordinated with the City Attorney’s Office.
