RECOMMENDATION
Accept the 2025 IPA Year End Report.
BACKGROUND
The Independent Police Auditor’s (IPA) Year End Report will be presented to the City Council on October 20, 2026. This report provides statistical information about IPA oversight and audits of Internal Affairs investigations conducted in the 2025 calendar year.
This report includes a discussion of the complaint process, IPA audit determinations, and IPA policy recommendations to the San José Police Department.
I will present an overview of this report during the City Council meeting scheduled for October 20, 2026. I welcome your comments and am available to meet with you to respond to questions and/or provide additional information.
Thank you for your support of this office. I would also like to recognize the San José Police Department for their ongoing cooperation and the IPA staff for their hard work and diligence.
