Total Users is the closest metric to it, however the universal standard metric is now is Active Users. The difference being that Active Users captures a more engaged audience who stays and takes action on the site vs. simply visiting and not staying long enough.

PERFORMANCE
Consumer/Leisure
• The objective of the FY25-26 Leisure media plan prioritized growing Revenue in San Jose.

We focused on travel endemic and online travel agency partners who could provide key production data indicating economic impact.
• The media mix for this plan was made up of digital programmatic, travel endemic (such as Sojern and Expedia), paid social and paid search. Visit San Jose launched new creative this fiscal year, that highlights new local artists and promoted our unique culture experiences. • The average length of stay for January – June 2026 according to Adara Impact was 3 days, up from 2.6 Days during the last CEDC report.
• We saw increased revenue in hotels, flights and in destination spend. This is attributed to the SJ26 events and additional advertising spend to support it. Revenue recorded was double what we saw last January – June.
• Another goal was to grow the leisure consumer database by increasing leads by 4%. We achieved this goal primarily through Visit California partnerships and paid social tactics.

PAID MEDIA PLAN OVERVIEW

CONSUMER/LEISURE
Performance targets should represent feasible markers of excellent performance within expected market conditions.

Most performance targets impact the allocation of budgetary resources within the Convention and Cultural Affairs Fund to support facility operations. • Overly aggressive performance targets would negatively impact the fund if not met. • Given lower activity levels since the pandemic, the fund operates at an extremely thin margin.

The timing of when performance targets are set during the budget process often does not line up with when large customers commit to host events.

PERFORMANCE
Meetings
• The main objective of the FY25-26 Annual Meetings plan was to drive new business and group bookings through generating sales leads using paid digital media strategies. Our goal for the fiscal year was to deliver 5.1M campaign engagements to drive action by key planners. • This was achieved through targeting planners and measuring their actions - landing page visits, video view completions, paid social engagements, and webinar attendance– all driven from Visit San Jose's paid media efforts.
• The media mix was made up of digital programmatic, meeting endemic digital (display, email, newsletters, webinars), paid social and paid search. These efforts were supported by meetings-specific creative content and in conjunction with Visit San Jose’s owned channels including website, newsletters, and social media efforts. • In FY25-26 we shifted focus from including predominately lead-generation tactics to incorporating more one-on-one access opportunities for the Visit San Jose Sales team. The goal is to generate hyper- qualified leads at key conventions.
