RESOLUTION NO. 2023-
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO SET ASIDE A TOTAL SUM OF $126,923 FROM THE WPCP FUND BALANCE AS A CAPITAL
RESERVE FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF THE EAST BAY DISCHARGERS AUTHORITY RESTRICTED FOR
EMERGENCY REPAIRS
WHEREAS, the East Bay Dischargers Authority (EBDA) is responsible for the safe discharge of effluent from member wastewater treatment plants to the San Francisco Bay; and WHEREAS, the City Council passed Resolution No. 2019-191, which approved the amended Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement with EBDA, extending membership to June 30, 2040; and WHEREAS, EBDA’s Emergency Reserves Policy requires access to funds during an emergency to make immediate repairs to infrastructure.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
That a new account should be created or opened and that the City Manager is authorized to allocate $126,923 from the Water Pollution Control fund balance as an emergency reserve for the exclusive use of EBDA for emergency repairs.
