IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
RESOLUTION NO. 2024-
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE APPOINTMENT OF RETIRED ANNUITANT KEVIN HART AS INTERIM POLICE CHIEF PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE §7522.56 and §21221(g) WHEREAS, in compliance with Government (Govt.) Code §7522.56 and §21221(g), the City Council of the City of San Leandro must provide CalPERS this resolution when a retired annuitant is employed to fill a position during a leave of absence granted to a person on payroll status for a period not to exceed one year and found to require specialized skills; and WHEREAS, Kevin Hart is a retired annuitant who possesses specialized skills and extensive experience in sworn law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to appoint Kevin Hart as the Interim Police Chief for the City of San Leandro effective October 1, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the hourly rate paid to Kevin Hart will be $145.70 per hour and Kevin Hart will not receive any other benefit, incentive, compensation in lieu of benefit or other form of compensation in addition to this hourly pay rate.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
That the nature of the appointment of Kevin Hart as described herein and that this appointment is necessary to fill the critically needed position of Interim Police Chief for the City of San Leandro effective October 1, 2023 because of Kevin Hart’s specialized law enforcement skills and knowledge.
