Dear David,
I understand the City of San Leandro is reviewing the possibility of renewing their agreement with the American Golf Corporation (AGC) this year. As President of the San Leandro Golf Club (SLGC), and on behalf of my Board, we would fully support the City’s decision to proceed with this renewal.
The SLGC has over 100 members, mostly San Leandro residents, that compete every Friday and Sunday morning. In addition, SLGC members represent Monarch Bay and the city of San Leandro in various Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) events through each year. AGC personnel have been invaluable in terms of supporting our club to help organize our local tournaments at the Monarch Bay Golf Course. In addition, AGC has been instrumental in coordinating NCGA competitions between our club and visiting clubs from other NorCal cities. Moreover, AGC has been very accommodating to SLGC members, in particular with our retirees. Many of our members choose to spend their time volunteering at the Monarch Bay Golf Course to help teach, assist with the general upkeep of the course, as well as helping out with some of the key operations.
Sincerely,
Thomas Clydesdale
President - SLGC

Dear David,
BOYS & GIRLS CWBS
OF SAN LEANDRO
I am writing to support the renewal of the American Golf Corporation's agreement with the City of San Leandro to manage the Monarch Bay Golf Club, an agreement I understand would extend the renewal term for another 5 years until 2029. Monarch Bay Golf has been and continues to be an amazing partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro.
Without hesitation, when the Club asked for help with providing a resource for the opening of our new dedicated Teen Center in August of 2022 as part of our Night of Exploration fundraiser, they provided not only equipment, but their own staff to manage the specific golf project for us. They continued that generous donation of time and talent the next day with our community festival, Rock the Block. Monarch Bay Golf again repeated the same involvement the following year in 2023.
The Club has been in conversation with them as well regarding providing entry level golf lessons to our younger kiddos in elementary and middle school at our various school sites in San Leandro and San Lorenzo. We are also discussing a golf program for our teens at the golf course itself. The inclusi"on of these programs helps the Club to meet its goals and objectives under our Healthy Lifestyles component of our work to help youth lead a healthy life, nutritionally, physically and emotionally/mentally.
Lastly, Monarch Bay Golf is launching a fundraising campaign for the Club with its own members on a regular basis, with golfers participating during their regular games in creative fundraising activities. All donations go to the American Golf Foundation that will in turn provide a direct donation of general operating support for our Club.
We urge the City of San Leandro to consider renewal of the AGC's agreement with the City that will surely benefit not only the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro, but the community in general.
Sincerely, , /

Dear Mayor Gonzalez:
I understand that the City Council is meeting this week to discuss future plans for Monarch Bay Golf Course. We are writing today to express our keen interest in exploring a potential public private partnership between the City and KemperSports. We are very familiar with the golf course and local golf market and believe that there are opportunities to improve the conditions, financial performance and community programming at Monarch Bay.

Currently, we manage more than 40 municipal golf courses, offering personalized and attentive client services to ensure we meet the needs of each individual community.
