IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XXX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FRANCHISE AGREEMENT FOR COLLECTION OF SOLID WASTE, RECYCLABLES,
AND ORGANICS WASTE BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND ALAMEDA COUNTY INDUSTRIES, INC.
WHEREAS, efficient and dependable solid waste, recyclables, and organics waste collection are a core function of government and are necessary for public and environmental health; and
WHEREAS, Alameda County Industries has successfully provided solid waste, recyclables, and organics waste collection for the City of San Leandro under a contract that expires in January 2025; and
WHEREAS, an agreement with Alameda County Industries for collection of solid waste, recyclables, and organics waste from February 2025 through February 2035 is presented to this City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
That the agreement substantially in the form presented is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized.
