IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XXX
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A NONPROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH GARLAND/DBS, INC. FOR ROOF RESTORATION PROJECTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024-2025 FOR $1,159,072 AND TO NEGOTIATE AND APPROVE CUMULATIVE CHANGE ORDERS UP TO 10% OR $115,908 OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT, FOR A TOTAL NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $1,274,980
WHEREAS, the scope of services and compensation schedule for roofing repair services at the History Museum and Public Works Service Center from Garland/DBS, Inc., have been presented to this City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and WHEREAS, Change Orders of up to 10% to modify bid quantities or to respond to unexpected conditions are a normal aspect of public contracting and construction; and WHEREAS, to deliver high quality public works projects on schedule and within budget, the Council finds that authorizing the approval of Change Orders is in the best interest of public health, safety, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends the execution of said non-professional service agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
That execution of the non-professional service agreement with Garland/DBS, Inc. for the History Museum roofing restoration project at the price listed in the staff report is approved and execution by the City Manager is authorized; and
That execution of the non-professional service agreement with Garland/DBS, Inc. for the Public Works Service Center roofing restoration project at the price listed in the staff report is approved and execution by the City Manager is authorized.
