IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XXX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO ACCEPT THE LETTER
OF INTENT TO DONATE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND THE DONATED FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000,000 TO AID IN THE REPLACEMENT OF THE CARYDRIVE /HAAS AVENUE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE (Will provide for acceptance of donated funds for the bridge replacement)
WHEREAS, the Cary/Haas Pedestrian Bridge Association is an unincorporated association of concerned citizen(s) (Donor) that was formed to support the City of San Leandro’s (City) bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure; and WHEREAS, the City and the Donor share the common objective to restore bicycle and pedestrian access between neighborhoods and Bancroft Middle School; and WHEREAS, the $5,000,000 donation is restricted funding solely and exclusively for the Cary Drive/Haas Avenue Pedestrian Bridge Replacement Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
1. That the City Council accepts the Letter of Intent outlining the Cary/Haas Pedestrian Bridge Association donation of $5,000,000 for the Cary Drive/Haas Avenue Pedestrian Bridge Replacement Project, and authorizes the City Manager to appropriate the funds upon receipt and execute all documents related to the donation; and
2. That an appropriation of the donation of $5,000,000 in revenue account #701-3803 and expenditure account #210-38-904 is approved; and
3. That an original executed letter of intent shall be attached to and made a part of this resolution.
