IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XXX
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A TRANSPORTATION ART MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE
CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IN SUPPORT OF AN ENCROACHMENT PERMIT
APPLICATION FOR THE INSTALLATION OF UTILITY BOX ART IN WASHINGTON PLAZA WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro celebrated its sesquicentennial milestone in 2023; and
WHEREAS, the celebration is being memorialized via original utility box art throughout San Leandro; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro wishes to install such original artwork depicting historic images of Washington Plaza on California Department of Transportation-owned utility boxes in Washington Plaza; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation requires that the City of San Leandro will bear the cost to install, maintain, remove, restore, and provide a resolution from the local public agency supporting the proposed utility box mural wrap demonstration project.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
That the City Manager or her designee is authorized to prepare and transmit the Transportation Art Maintenance Agreement; and
That the City Manager is authorized to execute any and all other documents that may be necessary to effectuate the application and the purpose and intent of this Resolution.
