Hi Fran, can I get an update on the manor repeated concerns items that I sent on February 9 below? I got a response from Tom Leo related to community development (cd) items before last weeks HOA meeZng - Thank you Tom… I pasted below . If not already done, can these cd items be directly sent by your staff to Jessica Perry to act on? Also, can I have a regular update on all these manor repeated concern items unZl they are resolved? with the first update by next week at this Zme? And updates say every other week On the same day ? If this fits staff schedule, if not, please advise what works be`er for staff if updates are feasible.

In addiZon, I got a message from a resident today ( pasted below) about the large eucalyptus tree behind 912 Purdue St. that I noZfied in my February 9 email: appeared tree trimmers for the city were out yesterday , however, did not look at the large eucalyptus tree. please include this in your response update If they can be provided . thank you

Thx VM Simon. Please see responses below in red related to CD.

Manor Farnsworth (88 market side) landscaping. Can it be cleaned up , who maintains the landscape ? Not just the shrubbery, needing trimming there’s trash stuffed within the bushes . lights there that have not worked for 5 years, need the realtor and business signs out of landscape areas . Community Preservation staff have scheduled inspections to follow up on these concerns and will enforce code violations. The City of San Leandro - Workplace Investigation

Hi Fran, here are some repeated concerns that I’m hearing from the manor area. Some of these we discussed before (realtor sign permanently up in front of the shopping center / corner where 88 markets is located ) and some are new. Can you get back to me within one week , by Feb 16 with an update on them? Thank you -Sycamore tree trimming. Understand Was supposed
to be minimum of 5 years. Complaints have gone in
for falling dead branches that have been trip hazard
for pedestrians and damaged cars. Some complaints
in for years.
- Sonic placing poles in peoples yards. How will this be addressed? there are at least two concerning trees in manor
park. one is behind the pickle ball courts, which is
leaning over into the backyard of 962 Purdue
impacZng and leaning into their yard over their city
approved accessory dwelling unit ( not allowing
much light through, very damp and wet all the Zme
even in the summer impacZng the roof of their
ADU). The second is behind the backyard of 912
Purdue and is a massive eucalyptus tree probably 80-
100 feet tall and the neighbors are very concerned
this is going fall into their homes and potenZally hurt or kill people.
-Water and leave backup due to the fabric installed
during paving and not removed for storm. Leaf pick
up in streets - neighbors clean up before and aler
storms and push the leaves out of gu`er into street,
and the city lets the debris sit and does not pick it

up. Root pruning needed for sidewalks.
-We are loosing street trees due to maintenance but
planZng in parks and schools. Sounds good but does
nothing to help the street scape.
-Manor Farnsworth (88 market side) landscaping.

Can it be cleaned up , who maintains the landscape ?
Not just the shrubbery, needing trimming there’s
trash stuffed within the bushes . lights there that
have not worked for 5 years, need the realtor and
business signs out of landscape areas .
- Does the City need to pass an ordinance regarding
the realtor signs when there’s no properZes vacant ?
- hundreds if not thousands of cigare`e bu`s laying all around the parking lot near market 88 and in front of all the businesses in that corner shopping center
- 15278 Hardin is installing iron gates. This is where the strong arm robbery was and where they had an illegal gambling operaZon.

This is going to allow them to conZnue their illegal gambling operaZon as reported by the neighbors. Is the fence permi`ed? Pic a`ached
- Many many houses in the manor are like this 15278 Hardin with the enZre front yard covered in concrete. shouldn’t be fined and required to rip it out?

OPINION
10 San Leandro Times THURSDAY, MARCH 28, 2024
San Leandro has been
working to set up mental
health intervention teams
since Steven Taylor was shot
to death in the Hesperian
Boulevard Walmart by a San
Leandro police officer almost
4 years ago, on April 18, 2020.

After that death, a number
of local residents argued that
Taylor was having a mental
health crisis that could have
been better handled by mental
health professionals than by
the police.

The city has begun acting
on that suggestion. Soon,
officials say, there will be
mobile mental health teams
better equipped to talk down
mentally troubled people than
the police are. Steven Taylor
could have lived, some say,
had there been such a team
then.

But on a usually quiet
block in the Lower Bal neighborhood, residents are now having a mental health crisis
of their own. One of the residents who lives alone in a house has taken to running up
to other houses and threatening his neighbors, according to people in the neighborhood.

Sometimes he dresses only
in gym shorts, sometimes in
his underwear, and sometimes he goes bottomless,
said neighbors. Sometimes he

Storm Water Fee Keeps
Polution Out of the Bay
Editor,
As a San Leandro parent, I’m
worried about how the impacts of
climate change, like big storms,
will impact my family. As the
Political Director at Save The Bay,
I know the importance of maintaining city infrastructure to protect communities and the environment.

I’m excited that San Leandro
is proposing to invest in our city’s
stormwater infrastructure and hope
that other property owners will join
me in supporting the Stormwater
Fee Amendment.

Protecting our community from
storm flooding and keeping pollution out of the bay is a top priority for me, my family, and my organization. The city has not raised stormwater fees in over 30 years.

Your article incorrectly stated the
size of the fee–most properties
will only see an increase of $1.97
a month, or even a decrease for the
smallest properties.

The crosswalk in front of my
child’s school floods almost every
time it rains, putting kids at risk
when they walk outside the crosswalk to avoid getting wet. Ensuring San Leandro’s children can safely
walk to school during a storm and
that the bay is clean and safe for
everyone is priceless–and certainly
worth $2 a month to me.

I’ll Carry the Flag
Editor,
Last year’s Cherry Festival Parade was missing our United States national flag out front, proudly. I
hope the City of San Leandro will
remedy this oversight this year.

found, I’ll wear my Sunday best
and carry the Stars and Stripes

Editor,
The Ohlone Shellmond village
site, on a parking lot at 1900 Fourth
Street in Berkeley, will be returning
to the Ohlone Indians after an historic deal of $27 million and years of legal battles.

The site, which was established
5,700 years ago, was home of the
Ohlone Indians before both the
Spanish conquistadors and white
settlers took over.

From the start of 2000 until
now, there have been legal battles
between the Ohlone Indians and
developers known as Ruegg and
Ellsworth who want to build housing on top of it. Now that the site will be returned to the Ohlone Indians under the Sogorea Te's Land Trust, I hope that they will be allowed to preserve their way of life.

Billy Trice Jr.

Oakland
carried a hammer or a pole,
but has never hit anyone with
either.

Recently, he ran after a
man pushing an infant in a
stroller, threatening both, one
neighbor said. That was preserved on video by a different neighbor, and you can hear the
father saying to leave him and
his child alone. But nobody
was actually assaulted.

The closest to violence
that’s occurred was a car’s
tires being punctured, though
there’s no proof the troubled
neighbor did that.

This situation would seem
right up the alley of the mobile
mental health teams, some of
the neighbors say.

But we don’t have those
mental health teams yet. They
were endorsed by the Community Advisory Budget Task
Force in 2021 and embraced
by the City Council soon after,
and are still in the process of
being set up. One of those task
force members, Juan Gonzalez, has since been elected
mayor.
“We hope we get them
soon,” said City Councilmember Bryan Azevedo. “The Fire Department has taken the lead,
along with our Human Services Department, and they’re
working on how to put them
into action.”
Azevedo, along with Fred
Simon, had supported the push
on the council to get the mental health team, a push led by former councilmember Celina
Reynes.

Jessica Lobedan, human
services director, confirmed
that and said efforts are also
underway to find a contractor
for mental health services
after the initial contact with a
troubled person.

Simon said he had wondered what had become of
the idea, given that it was
agreed to three years ago. For
two of those years, he served
on the fire chief’s advisory
committee, and said he has
considerable faith in Chief
William McDonald to get the
program going.
“He’s a very compassionate man, and he’s had experience in other cities that had programs like this. Fire
departments in a number of
cities have a tradition of aiding
the mentally ill, rather than
calling the police every time
there’s a problem.”
In Alameda County, there’s
currently one countywide
mental health team through
the Community Assessment
and Transport Team (CATT)
program, Simon said. They do
their best but struggle to get
everyplace they are needed,
he added.

A person could summon
that team by calling 911 and
asking for CATT, Simon said.

But when one neighbor
in the Lower Bal called the
police, the teams were not
mentioned or offered, and the
neighbor hadn’t been aware
the county teams existed to
ask for them. The police department has not returned
inquiries as to why a call was
not sent to the CATT teams.

San Leandro is trying
along with the fire department
to match intervention services
to what is needed here, Simon
said.

In the meantime, people
dealing with a troubled neighbor can call the county’s 2-1-1 program
to see what resources are
available, or else call the
police.

Lobedan suggested neighbors facing a similar situation can also call ACBH (Alameda
County Behavioral Health)
Crisis at 510-891-5600 to
request consultation or a mobile crisis or outreach teams.

That applies anywhere in
the county except Berkeley
or Fremont, where similar
programs operate, and can be
called Monday through Friday
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are
somewhat longer hours, from
7 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days
a week, at the CATT teams,
which you need to call 911
to request.

The Lower Bal residents
did call the police, and one
neighbor praised the department for taking notice of
the problem — though they
weren’t able to solve it.
“The man runs back into
his house after each of these
incidents before the police
can arrive,” the resident said.
“So they don’t see anything
themselves, and they say they
can’t go after someone in their
own house if they didn’t see a
crime occur.”
That neighbor and others,
following police advice, got
restraining orders against the
troubled man, telling him
basically to stop threatening
people or menacing their property. So far, he hasn’t followed that legally binding demand,
the neighbor said.
“Our whole system of
getting mentally ill people
ongoing care just doesn’t seem
to be working,” said Simon.
“It feels like it’s just catch and
release much of the time.”
Meals on Wheels
Needs Volunteers
SOS Meals on Wheels, the
provider of home-delivered
senior nutrition in the San
Leandro and Castro Valley,
needs more kitchen volunteers
to keep up with the demand
for service.

The work is rewarding,
fun, flexible, and meets a
pressing need in our community of providing homebound
seniors with a nutritious meal
and wellness check.

The SOS Meals on Wheels
kitchen is a joint effort of our
staff and volunteer teams. Our
staff cooks, cleans, and plans
for the over 1,800 meals we
serve daily, but we rely heavily
on our dedicated volunteers
to portion, pack, and seal our
meals five days a week.

Monday through Friday,
volunteers come to our San
Leandro kitchen starting at
9 a.m., and work on our tray
line for about 2-and-a-half
hours. Ideally, we would have
about five volunteers a day.

Currently, we are falling short
of that goal, with Thursdays
and Fridays being the most
challenging to fill.

Sign up today and start
tomorrow. Visit sosmow.org/

I am copying our Mayor Juan Gonzalez, Fran Robustelli city manager, and Eric Engelbart who are directly involved with our city of San Leandro Marina Development project.

Thanks for your support

The Heron Bay monthly HOA meeting is this Thursday evening and hoping to report out that we have a confirmed time that we can meet. As this has been a long-standing unresolved safety issue impacting 629 homes, really need to keep this moving.

What date/ time options are available by the city to meet via zoom? Would it be possible to get a response back today?
Thank you,

Hi Fran, the Heron Bay homeowners Association (hoa) reached out to me and asked if I can help set up and participate in a meeting with city staff and the Heron Bay HOA regarding the secondary emergency access point at the heron bay housing development across the Union Pacific railroad tracks, and bringing it back into operation. Many years ago , probably 10 years or so ago, Heron Bay had this secondary emergency access point across the railroad tracks located at the south east corner of the heron bay development, however, the railroad performed track work and never replaced the secondary emergency crossing . The concrete planks that would allow the crossing have been laying near the tracks uninstalled for many many years . Heron Bay hoa needs this emergency access point returned to service and is looking for assistance from the city to help coordinate with the railroad to make this happen. Following the city/Heron Bay HOA meeting, a second meeting, including the same participants plus the railroad will be requested.

Would it be possible to set up a meeting with me, city staff and heron bay hoa reps, and if so, are there good day and time options within the next two weeks to meet via zoom?

Subject: Safety concerns with construction along Wicks Boulevard Hi Fran, I reported to the nonemergency line San Leandro Police Department on Monday 3/25 about a dangerous traffic condition with the construction going on along Wicks Boulevard; I reported at the intersection of Wicks and Burroughs. One of the lanes is completely shut down (an a large pit in the road ) and traffic is routed around a curve with cones and no one’s there attending to the cones left up all night long. Essentially the cones are knocked over much of the time and there is potential for a head on collision to occur.

I received another report from a resident in Mission Bay mobile home park where extremely difficult for them to get out with the construction . There is no construction personnel directing traffic. Very dangerous. I also noticed yesterday that the sidewalk along Wickes Boulevard is completely shut down.

And there’s no sidewalk on the other side of the street so people have no way to traverse down wicks and some more walking in the street which is quite dangerous.

Can you confirm that the traffic plan has been reviewed and is being monitored to make sure that a safety incident is not occur? Also, please advise what steps can be taken to make the three issues above (wicks/Burrough, exiting Mission Bay, no sidewalk access along Wicks near Mission Bay) .

Can you get back to me by tomorrow/ Friday on this or sooner? Serious traffic safety concerns here.

Thank you.

Thanks for the response. Got it, we do not actively check….however, next time we are out there like this cleanup or other city visits ensuring the site is still in acceptable condition, can the city visually check the storm drain inlet to look to see if there’s any signs of sewage disposal in the storm drain? - Fred

Subject:Subject: A9er - 24 seven San Leandro dispatchers Hello, I touched  bases with mike McGuire at San Leandro times yesterday regarding the article on mental health in the March 28 sl times . Mike agreed it would be good to get a follow-up article in with the positive steps The city is taking towards mental health response and if possible to include some milestones on bringing it to fruition .  I also informed Mike of the work our council and mayor conducted in Washington DC recently meeting with our federal representatives requesting funding to support the alternate 911 emergency response (a9er) program, and we received a very positive response.

A concern Mike had is the police has not responded to his call on why dispatchers did not call Catt , when on the Catt website  it states call 911 to reach Catt within alameda county.

In My opinion the city should always respond when we are reached out to. If the clarification is “unincorporated “ alameda county ( Castro Valley, Cherryland, Ashland, San Lorenzo, Fairview) is where 911 will call Catt then this message should be sent out and the Catt website clarified…. and perhaps this can be clarified in the next San Leandro Times article on mental health as well ( plus notify that the county dispatcher may be used at midnight shift  over the next six months - so I residents aren’t confused when they call in like the person that reached out to me)
Fran, can you , me the mayor and stag you feel necessary , and perhaps chief McDonald , meet sometime via msteams the week of April 15 or 22 to discuss preparation of materials/info to share with sl times on positive steps and milestones of mental health City of San Leandro - Workplace Investigation

response?
And as a heads up, Mike also inquired on the marina and I advised that we were also seeking funding in Washington DC as well ; seems as an article may be written at some point by sl times on the Marina progress .

Thanks,

I am looping Jessica in to communicate confusion to the County team.

Because only ogicers can call for CATT, a 911 call would need to be dispatched.

However, it is up to the ogicer to call for CATT and then it is up to the County to respond if they have resources.

It is not a perfect system quite yet.

Thanks for preparing an update. The issue is, the sl times looked up catt online, and it specifically says to dial 911 within Alameda county ( see screenshot and link below) . I didn’t specifically tell sl times to dial 911…I just told the times to look up Catt online on how to contact Catt ,  and sl times saw the online directions to dial 911 to reach Catt.  As we speak, this is the info that’s out there to our community online through Catt, to dial 911 to reach Catt https://www.crisissupport.org/get-help-now/alameda-county-crisis-referrals/ On Mar 28, 2024, at 3:44 PM, Robustelli, Fran <FRobustelli@San Leandro.org> wrote:

Hi Fran, can you give the full council a heads up on this share of contracting of dispatchers at midnight in the event more  residents reach out asking questions? Also , can you give council a heads up in advance of community interface staging changes in the future? In training dispatchers as chief hart mentions below , would be good to let them know about the 911/ mental health services response per my email earlier this morning.

Thanks,
Fred

Councilmember Simon,
Due to low staging and getting new dispatchers properly trained, we have temporarily contracted with the Alameda County Sherig’s Ogice for dispatch services of our calls on the midnights shift only.  We expect this to last no more than six months, as we are hiring new dispatchers, getting them trained in call taking and once proficient,  dispatching calls for service. The training process takes about six months before a dispatcher is allowed to work alone.

There is a call taker on midnights during the hours of 2300- 0700 hours (Midnight shift), that handles calls from the nonemergency number that come in.  If needed, they transfer the call to the Sherig’s Ogice who then in turn dispatches the San Leandro Police patrol unit.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Fran,
I received this message from a resident last
night. Can you confirm that our dispatchers
are working 24 seven? That is my
understanding however, want to double
check since this is not the message that this
resident seems to received.

Thanks,
Fred

Article just came out today, though some text worded a bit di`erent than I expected. Would be good to circle back with sl times on our progress with mental health response  and get an article out on the citys next steps with more concrete timing and milestones.  Plus getting information in there on our funding requests for a9er during National League cities dc.

Another action item would be to follow up with the sl police department and their understanding / protocol of how the CATT outreach works…. check out the Alameda county crisis referrals website, it specifically says in Alameda county to dial 911 and request CATT ( screen shot and web link below)

Hi Fran, I just heard today from neighbors that the 99 Cents store will be moving out of the greenhouse. Can you find out if it’s a corporate situation or if they’re having issues with the greenhouse ?  And if the city is aware of these type of big store moves, can you give me a heads up in advance? Same for other council members, on other big stores in their districts.

Also, its been a bit over three weeks , and checking if you can confirm if Safeway or the other grocery stores have exclusivity rights in the greenhouse area?  Would you be able to get back to me on Monday April 8  on this?
Thanks,
Fred

Hi Fran, I’ve been talking to the past couple of years.. I have a connection through the , where I grew up. I
spoke to again today explain to them the perfect opportunity for the blockbuster/Goodwill building over in the greenhouse. will send a few of his stan out to take a look at it, some of them live in San Leandro.

I mentioned to , the demographics term that I’ve heard from others, is that felt like we weren’t the right demographics, and said this is definitely not City of San Leandro - Workplace Investigation

the case, they want to come to San Leandro. They have looked at the northside( as you mentioned Fran)
however, is totally open to the south side over at the greenhouse. I also warned him of the condition of the blockbuster building when they first see it, not the greatest looking however, he said that’s fine. They’re used to picking up buildings like that.

One big question has, and I advised that I will get back to him on, does Safeway or the other grocery stores have exclusivity rights in the greenhouse area? Thanks, Fred
PS this blockbuster/ Goodwill location would be a great location for a Tesla supercharger, since we only have one on the north side of town near the marina 880 Exit. This will also drive business. I mentioned potential for Tesla supercharger here to Adam, can you get back to me Fran on this as well how we’re looking on bringing more Tesla superchargers in town? Tesla superchargers, equal shopping and business . <image001.jpg>

Subject:Subject: Memorial bench and QR code with informaKon to share with the community Hi Janelle, I believe you’re filling in for a fran for  the rest of the week.

If so, could you help out with this item?
A few months ago I had checked in with Fran to see if I could get information on how to install a bench at the marina and a plaque. my family and I Would like to do this for my dad who passed away last November. I have a location in mind at the marina, right next to this existing bench, Where the red dog blanket is shown in the photo is where would like to install the bench. Here’s an example of other adjacent benches in the photos attached.

Related to this, Rosa from seemylegacy.com just happened to reach out to me in my position as councilmember and I spoke to her today. Rosa is copied on this email. Really good timing as I was looking for a memorial bench for my dad, and she is oeering something i didn’t realize this service was out there where a QR code can be provided to share more of information about the person that is being memorialized. A really really fun example is City of San Leandro - Workplace Investigation

sharing some of the good recipes from those in our family that have passed and sharing this info with our community walking by the benches.

Can you pass on my request to contact in the city that  handles Memorial benches, as well as can they reach out to Rosa who is copied on this email? I think this seemylegacy would be a great service to our community to share and remember our loved ones, and share information from our loved ones to the community. And the price is $1700 per year for the city for unlimited tags for memorial /benches/trees on their website to share information about the families. Just my thoughts, no direction here, however, would be great to look into it if we can . And if someone can reach back out to me, so I could begin the process to install a bench for my dad.

I am copying our  mayor gonzalez as well as this is a pretty interesting concept to share information about our loved ones amongst our community.

Thanks ,
Fred

I writing to you all about current conditions at the marina boat ramp and surrounding areas.

The parking area has had r.v. parked there for over a year, it's posted no overnight parking,  yet the guy does not move.  Ivecall police department and was told to contact city council.

The next issue would be unregistered sailboats at the finger dock at the launch ramp.  One of the boats has been tied up to this dock for over a year.  The other side of the launch ram finger dock (the new dock from genentec)  has had another sailboat again without registration numbers has been tied up there for a couple months.  Trash and car parts on the dock next to this boat.  The bay near the launch ramp also has several boat anchored there along with a section of dock covered with trash.  Two weeks ago I saw an upside down zodiak boat ther with motor leaking oil/fuel into the bay.  People appear to be living in these boat.

This is truly a blight in our community not to mention the waste that is released from these vessels.  I contacted the coastguard with no results.

I hope that something can be done to bring some beauty and safety back to this area.

Thank you for your time and eforts to fix these problems.

What an incredible event, and such great idea with the trees. Folks planting together, unbundling the roots, shoveling in the soil, feeling the leaves, brought in such a sense of togetherness and healing, just as our pavilion will do once it’s completed.

Again, nice nice job all!!!!

Ps. As a heads up for Saturday I will be recommending at the priority workshop that we include funding for the renovation of the picnic area next to the sanctity of life pavilion.

Hopefully we can phase that in after pavilion  construction,  hopefully for picnic area renovation construction in 2025,  including power to the pavilion. As we saw and heard ( or didn’t hear at times )  so important to have power to the pavilion especially with the airport noisy airplanes overhead, definitely need the ability to power a portable Sound system.

The run of show will be finalized and shared
early next week.

The Recreation and Parks Maintenance
team will clean up and prep the site and
surrounding areas for the event.

CalFire grant talking points:
*   This occasion marks the culmination of
the CALFire Urban Forestry grant initiative,
during which the City successfully planted
over 1,000 trees in the past 1.5 years
through 24 tree planting events, with the
help of over 2200 volunteer hours.
*   The focus of tree planting egorts was
predominantly on frontline neighborhoods
grappling with heat vulnerability and air
pollution.
*   This ambitious project fostered extensive
regional collaboration involving
organizations such as Common Vision, San
Lorenzo Unified School District, San
Leandro Unified School District, Hayward
Area Recreational District, Alameda County
Planning Department, Student
Conservation Association, Health Human
Resources Education Center, Mulford
Gardens Improvement Association, Hands
on Bay Area, CivicSpark AmeriCorps, and
Year Up.
*   None of this would have been achievable
without the dedicated support of various
community volunteer groups, including
Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, Boy and Girl
Scout Troops, Temple Beth Sholom, San
Leandro High Eco Club, San Leandro High
Interact and Key Clubs, Arroyo High Interact
and Key Clubs, Kipp King Collegiate High
Interact Club, Ghirardelli, and Energy

the run of show once prepared, and a
description of where we will be gathering
and planting trees in relation to the photos
attached.

I also visited the site yesterday morning and
I’ve attached a few photos. As you could
see, unfortunately trash is left in the area
and I’ve not noticed it regularly. Our Public
work does a great job of cleaning it up, they
just haven’t gotten here yet as early am pic .

However, there could be a much better use
of our stag time than to pick up trash from
people day in and day out .

Fran/janelle, Can we come up with a plan
for signage with littering fining included at
the marina as a pilot, then moving to other
areas in the city? And include littering fine to
the multiple thousand dollar level and place
it on the sign? Unfortunately, until it hits
folks pocketbook They don’t seem to pay
much attention . I have raised this concern
previously, however, raising it again as it
really caught my eye in front of the new
Steven Taylor sanctity of life pavilion. I am
copying Rich on this email to see what we
can do from the legal side ( ordinance
needed ?) to get the fine for littering in
motion. And in other states I’ve seen fining
around the  3,4, $5000 range  for littering. My
vote is for the highest number possible.

Would you be available to get together with me for a half hour  to review what the next steps in addressing Mission Bay concerns? In particular, they have interest in progress with the rules committee, which I have been off of for a while. In advance of the meeting I’ll forward you the slides that they presented to me probably a year and a half or ago or so.

Copying Fran as well, perhaps she’ll be able to jump on the zoom with us. I will ask Sophia if she can set a half hour with us sometime this week or the following week.

Hi Sophia, can you provide some good days and times for a meeting with Fran and Juan as described above?

In addiZon, I got a message from a resident today ( pasted below) about the large eucalyptus tree behind 912 Purdue St. that I noZfied in my February 9 email: appeared tree trimmers for the city were out yesterday , however, did not look at the large eucalyptus tree. please include this in your response update If they can be provided . thank you

Hi Fran, here are some repeated concerns that I’m hearing from the manor area. to be minimum of 5 years.

Purdue and is a massive eucalyptus tree probably 80-
100 feet tall and the neighbors are very concerned
this is going fall into their homes and potenZally hurt or kill people.
-Water and leave backup due to the fabric installed
during paving and not removed for storm. Leaf pick

storms and push the leaves out of gu`er into street,

HASPA's geographic jurisdiction ends right at our border, so we would need to make a formal inquiry to get the geographic expansion to include San Leandro.

When I asked our sea level rise plan consultant Terraphase about joining either HASPA to the south or the Oakland-Alameda Adaptation Committee to the north, they recommended OAAC because we are already a member there and partially included to Oyster Bay. City of Hayward did indicate that they are considering opening up membership to other agencies including San Leandro, so that conversation may be coming down the line. For time being, we're informally coordinating and will be including them in the review of our sea level rise plan.
