Interests & Experiences
Please tell us about yourself and why you want to serve on a board or commission.

I am a passionate and hardworking individual who likes to go on walks or hikes with my friends and family. Some of my passions include volunteering at my local organizations and providing a lending hand to others whenever I can. This includes volunteering at the San Leandro Public Library and Alameda County Community Food Bank as well as helping or comforting others who may not be having the best day. As a very outdoorsy person, I have seen a lot of problems within our society, which motivates me to serve on the board for the Youth Advisory Commission to represent my community and ensure that everyones voices are heard. My goal, on the Community Police Review Board, is to provide informative feedback about problems or concerns that citizens in our society may have as well as inspire others to join in and provide their support to serve justice.

Please tell us about yourself and why you want to serve on a board or commission.

As a junior at San Leandro High School my engagement in diverse activities has not only fueled my passion for civic engagement, Public health, and policy, but has also equipped me with a multidimensional perspective, that I believe would be valuable to the Community Police Review Board. Serving as the Youth Advisory Commissioner for San Leandro has offered me firsthand experience in advocating for youth voices in city initiatives and plans, while my internship for Earth Team has deepened my understanding of local environmental challenges and solutions, highlighting the relation between public safety, health, and environmental stewardship. In my role as treasurer for STEM club and event coordinator for Success on Load Club, I have honed my organizational and leadership skills, managing funds and coordinating events that promote educational success and community engagement. My experience as a tutor for Kumon has not only underscored the importance of education in empowering our youth but also taught me the importance of patience, empathy, and effective communication. These qualities are essential in fostering meaningful community engagement as well as policy development. Beyond my organizational involvements, my passion for music and physical wellness, demonstrated through my participation in city events such as the Cherry Festival, and my commitment to gym activities, reflect my belief in the importance of cultural enrichment and mental health in fostering a vibrant and healthy community. Through my appointment at the Community Police Review Board, I am to leverage these experiences to contribute to thoughtful, inclusive policies, and enforcement practices that enhance the well-being and safety to all San Leandro residents, ensuring that our community is a place where everyone can thrive.
